The Shady Porch: German Chocolate Bundt Cake

German Chocolate Bundt Cake

When we were kids, German Chocolate cake was reserved for special events. Sometimes it was the requested birthday cake; other times it was the "company's coming" cake. It's been a very long time since I've made one because my hubby has no appreciation for coconut. However, when I ran across this EASY recipe for a German Chocolate bundt cake on, I knew I had to try it. Plus, it seemed like kismet since company's coming for the weekend!
In case you're wondering, it is great with coffee...therefore, to me, it is a coffee cake too!

German Chocolate Bundt Cake
1 box of your favorite brand of German Chocolate cake mix (stick with me...this is going to get better!)
2-15 oz. containers of Coconut Pecan Frosting
Eggs, oil and water according to the directions on the brand of cake mix you chose.
Adding the frosting to the mix.
Preheat oven to 350°f.
I prepped my bundt pan with  baking spray, just make sure you grease and flour your pan.
In large bowl, beat the cake mix, eggs, oil and water as directed on the cake box. Now, add 1 container of the coconut pecan frosting to the batter and mix well.

Pour batter into the prepared bundt pan.

Bake at 350°f for 45-50 minutes or until tested done when toothpick or butter knife inserted in center comes out clean. Allow cake to cool.
For glaze, place the second container of coconut pecan frosting in microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 10-15 seconds. Stir until smooth. Drizzle over cake.
