Porch Parade: Tips, Menu, Faves & Pins #10

Operation Organization
I love all of the different uses I keep seeing for old pallets! It's inspiring to see the innovative ideas. I've seen the pallets used as furniture, planters, decorative signs, frames and so on. So, when I was thinking about how to alleviate some of the closet congestion in our living room, I thought of making a coat rack out of a pallet. I'm placing the pallet rack behind the front door and next to the closet that needed the extra room, so it is going to be super handy!
I've added some recycled water bottle vases and flowers for pops of color, making it a little more interesting and now it has a multi-purpose. I like this idea for my home because this wasted space is now being utilized for something beneficial. I'm thinking of stenciling something like, 'Stay A While' on the top board. What do you think?

You're invited you to be take part in an Earth Day Challenge! I am going to go through our garbage (aka - trash, disposables, refuse) and attempt to re-purpose one item each day this week. It could be re-purposed for a one-time use or something long term. Want to join me?
I thought it would be fun to find out what we're really throwing away and stretch our thinking a little. I've set up a linky party so you can showcase all of your projects for the week. I will be featuring them on my Google+, Facebook and/or Twitter pages throughout the week. I will also share the Top 3 projects with the most pageviews here on the Porch Parade next Sunday. Join the fun and let's see what we can rescue and re-create!  If you don't have a blog, just email theshadyporch at gmail.com and send me your picture and a brief title for your project and I will link it up for you.[Psst...the linky is live now in case you want to start celebrating early]
