1 lb. ground beef (ground turkey, ground sirloin, etc)
1/2 cup onion, minced
1 cup ketchup or half of a 6 oz. can tomato paste
1 cup water
2 T. Worcestershire sauce
1 T. chili powder
1 T. mustard
1/2 t. salt, if desired
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and onion until thoroughly cooked. Drain.
- Stir in ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, water, chili powder, salt and mustard.
- Simmer uncovered for 10-15 minutes until sauce thickens, stirring occasionally.
TIP - If the sauce is too tomato-y for your taste, add a teaspoon of sugar. Repeat, if necessary until the sauce flavors mellow to your liking.
