What's For Supper: Menu September 1, 2014

I hope everyone is enjoying their long Labor Day weekend. We are calling it our second Sunday and truly making it a day of rest. It is hard to get re-calibrated, post-summer break, to the back-to-school clock, so the timing of this holiday is always a nice reprieve. For the menu this week, the popular Chicken Dumpling casserole returns, so, as I cook the chicken for that favorite, I will include extra for use when we make our Chicken spaghetti (essentially it's shredded chicken in marinara rather than the typical beef or sausage). It's a nice change the kids will enjoy, too. The Italian sausage and brats were on sale last week, and I had a meat department coupon for our favorite grocer, which played a role in both showing up on the menu this week. I am looking forward to making the Apple Cider Bundt cake; it's a new recipe and I will share the results with you in the near future.

Weekly Dessert - Apple Cider Bundt Cake with Streusel topping
